Intumescent Flame Retardant Phosphorous And Nitrogen Intumescent Fire Retardant Paint For Steel And Wood
Intumescent fire retardant (IFR) is an environmentally friendly green flame retardant that does not contain halogens or uses antimony oxide as a synergistic agent. Intumescent flame retardant steel painting surface will be generated when burnt carbon foam layer, insulation, oxygen, smoke suppression, and drip-proof, etc, it has excellent flame retardant properties, and low smoke, low toxicity, no corrosive gas.
Intumescent fire retardants have three basic elements. acid source, carbon source, and gas source.
The acid source also is known as the dehydrating agent or carbonization accelerator, generally inorganic acid or combustion can in situ acid formation of compounds, such as phosphoric acid, boric acid, sulfuric acid, and phosphate ester;
The carbon source is also called carbon agent, which is the basis of forming foam carbonization layer. It is mainly some polyhydroxy compounds with high carbon content, such as starch, sucrose, dextrin, pentaerythritol, ethylene glycol, phenolic resin, and so on;
The gas source is also called foaming source, is containing nitrogen compounds, such as urea, melamine, polyamide, and so on.
Among the three components, the acid source is the most important, with the largest proportion, and the fire retardant element is contained in the acid source. Therefore, the acid source is the fire retardant in the true sense, while the carbon source and the blowing agent are the co-agents.
TF-201 is Ammonium Polyphosphate phase II, is particularly suitable as an acid source for intumescent steel coatings
